Evaluation

Making Waves grew out of doing service evaluation using User Focused Monitoring (UFM). Making Waves grew out of an organisation called SUMS (1999-2002) which carried out UFM. We still do audit and service evalaution work but this is now a much smaller part of our overall work.

Making Waves run basic research skills training for people wanting to be involved in our evaluation work. There are opportunities to be involved in:

  • interviewing
  • report writing
  • data analysis
  • questionnaire design
  • presentation of findings

We have run this training for a number of organisations including:

  Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust

  Lincolnshire Partnership Trust

East Midlands Mental Health Research Network
